Happy New Year!!

Happy New Years dessert deputies from everyone here at Goodies 2 Choose! I hope you all had a relaxing holiday and a wonderful Christmas filled with family, friends and of course lots of yummy things to eat!

As you can imagine, as a full-time university student, exams took up a lot of time! But don't fret, there was plenty of time for baking after the madness. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the eight different kinds of cookies, cakes and trifles that were made.

Here are some pictures from last year, as well as a picture of some unbaked cookies I had the pleasure of making this year!

You Know You're Famous When.... Your Face is on a Cookie!

This past weekend, Goodies 2 Choose was asked to make cookies for an exclusive Elle Canada magazine party! These were my classic sugar cookies, topped with custom edible wafer paper! Cool eh!? On the cover of the December 2010 issue, is model Laura Rowley. Word is that the cookies were absolutely delicious! Here is a look from the exclusive party hosted by super agent Chantale Nadeau!

This is a fundraiser for a new, local twenty-bed women’s treatment home. It is a non-denominational ministry that partners with churches who share our passion to help women in need. The centre will provide Christian based treatment for up to a year, by providing counseling, career training and tracking, life skills and an opportunity for lasting change. The Rosati Group has been retained as the Construction Manager and blueprints for the centre are completed; the building is not up yet. We are half way there but need your support to complete this project. The Windsor Life Centre will not operate with government funding - it will be totally sponsored by the generous support of those of us who care about the ones who have been tossed aside, abused or forgotten.

This centre is desperately needed in our community as there is nothing like this available now. It is a centre to help women sustain a major transformation so that they can break the destructive bonds, return to their families, partners and start a new positive productive lifestyle. Please take a moment to consider the importance of this project. There are many ways you can get involved. Whether you purchase one ticket, a table, or donate directly to the Windsor Life Centre your thoughtfulness, consideration and generosity would be greatly appreciated. We are also collecting silent auction items or donated items for the Gala. Please feel free to contact us for more information. The Gala could even be a "girls night out" or celebration for couples or a business recognition event.

For Gala tickets: contact the Gala event coordinators:
